Containing a special net material laminated between two layers of clear optical glass, Tiffen Softnets smooth out fine details, such as facial blemishes and wrinkles, without making the image appear out of focus. Best results are achieved when using lens apertures from mid-range to wide open. The finer the material of the softnet (which comes in grades 1, 2, 3 or 4), the greater the effect. An adjustment of 1/3 to 2/3 f-stop compensation is suggested.
